About Me

I’m Johnny Thompson, a UK property investor, renovator, and senior software engineer. I still work full-time, have a young family, and invest in property through a limited company, so the way I approach it is practical, realistic, and built around real life.

Over the years, I’ve renovated multiple properties, including my own home, and built everything from kitchens and bathrooms to larger refurbishment projects. That hands-on experience gives me a useful perspective on what genuinely adds value, what tends to go wrong, and where money is best spent.

Alongside that, I’ve spent more than a decade in finance, including over seven years working around mortgages and commercial real estate at a tier-1 investment bank. That background means I naturally look at property through a numbers-driven, risk-aware lens as well.

I started sharing what I’d learned because a lot of property education online felt either too vague, too hypey, or too disconnected from real life. Through my content and membership, I help people think more clearly about deals, finance, refurbs, and next-step decisions in UK property, without the hype.
